Basically it seems as though the two tabs at the top of the display aren t clicking into place.

Thermostatscan be a little tricky but this is a pretty good plain answer what. If you see dust being blown out this may have been your problem. If everything looks ok then check the battery in your thermostat if it is a digital model. Change your wall thermostat batteries once a year or when the low battery indicator appears on the digital display.

It should come off easily. These include a tripped breaker a loose connection a dirty thermostat or a bad battery in your digital thermostat. The first thing you will want to do is to check the electrical panel to see if any breakers are off or tripped. Often when installing a thermostat people have no or little idea of what to do.

If it is a loose wire turn the ac unit off by switching the breaker. The other day i noticed that my 2nd gen nest thermostat is coming loose from the wall mount. I tried pushing just about as hard as i felt comfortable pushing but it still seems to sit crooked and feels very loose. Pull the wall thermostat housing off of its wall mount plate.

Turn the thermostat off first and remove it from the wall base. We have a round honeywell wall thermostat.
